With the win over Iowa, Ohio State coach Jim Tressel won his 50th game. He also did it quicker than any other coach in Ohio State history.
Tressel, in typical Tressel humility, had this to say:
“Well we play more games then they did back then. I have learned a great deal from growing up watching Woody (Hayes) and I got the chance to learn first-hand from (Earle) Bruce. Going all the way back to Paul Brown, the coaches have made this the place to be for people in the state. I know, my father was one of them.”
If nothing else, you have to love the respect Tressel has for the traditions of Ohio State.
