Yes Tony we can all get along as long as we show respect for the other teams feelings. Look at you, we did not get along at first, but now all shit went down the drain and the good stuff has risen to the top. I think the Hog fans were a little strong at first, kind of high minded with this sos,and sec speed, and all their stats. I welcome them back any time. Hog fans were very gracious in defeat as Buckeye fans would have been. It is only a game and win or lose we live to fight another day. I will be on your side next week as the Ducks plau Auburn. I think I like the Quacking Duck you added to your name, shows character.
Texas Hog tagged me with the “quacking duck”….. I think a Duck living in Beavertown was just too confusing for him. So, I went with it.
I am feeling pretty confident about the Ducks in the NC. Auburn seems a little confused …. They have a “Tiger” for a mascot and their battle cry is “war eagle”?
What is up with that?? All too confusing for this Duck to figure out….
Congradulations Buckeye fans. That was a great game, even though it did broke my heart to see my Hogs lose. I can’t believe the WRs dropped that many passes. Bummer.
That DE, Mr. Heyward. is a stud. He’s going to make some money on the next level some day.
I was impressed with how the Hogs handled Herron for the most part, but watching them continually chase Pryor outside of the pocket was ugly. (OMG!)
Hogs made a terrific run at a comeback in the second half, with the D only allowing Pryor & co. 3 points, but shooting themselves in the foot way too many on offense.
Tressell and the Buckeye players deserve credit. They came ready to play and carried themselves like they had been there before.
After watching this game I started thinking that the adage is true: luck will outdo skill every time. And the luck I’m talking about is OSU’s luck – at least 9 dropped Arkansas passes, two of which were likely touchdowns; and a blocked punt that should have been picked up and walked into the end zone for another (and winning) touchdown, but wasn’t because of player stupidity. I still don’t know which team is better, because Lady Luck played too big a role. But I will admit that had that blocked punt been against Arkansas, with the same result on the bounce, it probably would have ended up in the end zone. This was not a game to build a reputation on.
TmListon …LUCK? Are your SERIOUS?? First off …… THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS LUCK!!!!
How about this …… the Buckeyes were better prepared than the Hogs. I mean no disrespect to Arkansas bacause they played a hell of a game. But the fact that tOSU has been to 9 BCS bowls vs Zero for Arkansas has more to do with the win than LUCK. This was a huge game and your recievers were probably a little nervous throughout the game. All of this was talked about in the weeks coming into the game ….. and now you want to pull the “LUCK” card. Have a little respect for yourself man. I have learned from experience …… because the same thing happened to the Ducks last year. Your guys just weren’t as prepared. Nevertheless, you should be proud of what they accomplished this year and they played a great Sugar Bowl. Luck is only for leprachuns ….
tmliston, Nobody said it was a game to buid a reputation on. I quarentee if the game had gone the other way Arkansas and their fans would have been just as happy as we Buckeye fans. Luck has alot to do with who wins in any sport, a missed field goal, a texas leaguer in baseball, a rim out in Basketball.
One other thing you forgot, we were playing with 2nd and 3rd team DB’s most of the game, and our best defensive player had a bad wing, and TP late in the game got his ankle rolled up on, so I would say luck has alot to do with winning or losing a game. Thats all it is a game, nothing more
there has to be a winner and loser. Last night the Buckeyes happened to win, play the game next week and Arkansas probably wins. Shit happens.
I would like to say on the record as well, I told the Arkansas fanatics that the worst thing their team could possibly do defensively is send blitzers after Pryor. Because what happened? You made him flush out of the pocket and up the sideline for ten yard gashes almost every time. Would have been better off sitting back with seven guys in coverage and making him fit the ball in places where it’s difficult to do so. Maybe Arkansas could use me on their staff, just saying.
Maybe Tressel could hire you as a double agent? perhaps.
Arkansas hires you to spy on tOU because of you talents ….. but you are really spying on Arkansas for Tressel……Mwhaaa Mwhaaa haaa.
And then you can a “LAZER” and point it to the NCAA front offices and demand all the moneys that Cam Newtons people gave them to look the other way.
While we’re waiting for Jim to return and post a post-game article.. How about some discussion on Braxton Miller.
I caught some of the All-American game last night and all I can say is WOW.
There was obviously some confusion that I will attribute to a put together offense with 4 days of practice, but my first real impressions were:
1. The may not have the flat out speed of TP, but he is much, much quicker and more elusive.
2. He does not have TPs size or strength, but at 6-2 195 lbs with half a year to put on a little muscle, there is plenty for an incoming freshman.
3. This kid has crazy mad skills throwing the ball. He throws a much better ball than TP.. I’d compare the look of the throws to Troy Smith LATE in his college career.
I know this is not a comparison some will like, but he reminded me of a younger Mike Vick the way he moved but with the arm strength he has now. Veeery nice quick release as well.
If this kid can keep his head screwed on straight on and off the field, we are in for a serious treat for the next 3 or 4 years.
Congrats on the win Buckeyes. It was fun arguing on this board, it was depressing watching TP beat us with his feet, and he threw a lot of perfect passes in the first half. The first half was really depressing because not only could the Buckeye Offense do no wrong, but the Arkansas Offense had SUCH a poor showing.
I don’t know if there is a DE in the country that can contain TP. That was really the key to the game. Boom Herron up the middle for a few yards. 3rd and 4 and then Pryor just runs out of bounds 2 or 3 yards past the marker. Killed us every time.
Oh on another note, I thought the Buckeye fans were very classy. I only had one OSU fan that I felt compelled to hate (besides any that cheered when something good happened for OSU… of course I hated them) but luckily that fan was in the wrong seat and was not by me for the game.
I was very proud of the amount of Arkansas fans, the loud cheering, I thought overall it was a great experience. Glad I was there, and I enjoy living in Baton Rouge because it means it’s just a short drive to get there every year.
O.K. Folks. Just getting back in the swing of things but plenty to say about the game. Hopefully will post in a few.
As for the “luck.” Please…there’s a reason Mallet’s receivers were dropping those passes. Mallet’s got an arm, he’s throwing under panic and something tells me those passes had way too much heat on them.
Oh, and there was a great photo to go with the post above but apparently it didn’t go. I was struggling with a dying phone the entire night.
I agree with you on the luck thing. That’s just being rediculous, but the WRs haven’t dropped passes like this all season.
There was only one I thought had too much heat on it. I think it was either late in the 3rd or early in the 4th qr. to D.J. Williams.
Arkansas did have problems last season catching those Mallett bullets, but they’ve been great catching the ball this season for the most part. This was definately the worst game they’ve had since Mallett has been the QB.
Dare I say they chocked on the big stage? Could be. After all, this was the biggest game these kids have ever played in. I think it got too them a bit.
Ohio St, has been there before with the same kids twice already. That probably made a difference much more than most Razorback fans thought it would, including me.
I think Arkansas’s kids wanted this game really bad, but it was obvious from the start Ohio St. had more focus on what they needed to do than Arkansas did. At times, it just seemed like they were trying to force things a little too much IMO.
Congrats to tOSU. Was the highlight of the bowl season (so far!). Great intensity and execution in the first half. JT is a class act, and oh the …. ‘Vest Bump’. Loved it!
Some things in here I have not thought about before. Thanks for making such a cool post which is really very well written.will be referring a lot of friends about this.Keep blogging. Apple ipod touch

Dear Arkansas,
Get out of our house.
DJ, take your broken keyboard with you.
O-H!!!!!! DRINKS ARE ON ME!!!
TPB ….. can’t we all just get along. Nice game my brother.

Auburn fans will not be shocked to hear people say that. It kinda just rolls off of them like water on a ducks back.
I was really really really really really really really not sober last night.
Really.
I love New Orleans so much, I want to take the city behind a middle school and get it pregnant.
Careful.. been there a few times. You would catch something for sure.
We really should have tried to meet up Joey. I know it was a rough trip back to the Sheriton yesterday morning.

There were only 6 dropped passes.
Willy Robinson didn’t have the defense prepared.
That player was not stupid, he tried to pick it up but he fell on it.
tmliston… you’re an idiot.
In case you haven’t noticed Tmliston, Buckeyes don’t need Arkansas to build a reputation.

Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. I’ll take that as the highest form of flattery in sports, every day.
Now I have to shower again, because I quoted Lee Corso.
