I have made my opinion of Notre Dame painfully clear elsewhere on this site so I will try my best not to go into it now.
However, somehow, Brady Quinn, the quarterback who lead his team to 20 point losses over the only two ranked opponents they faced, has won the Maxwell Award which is supposed to be awarded to the college football player of the year.
I am assuming at this point that the Maxwell has become more of a booby prize. If the media tells you are a great player for two or more years and you fail repeatedly to prove it on the field, you must get the Maxwell.
Maybe it is nothing more than a way for the Saturday morning talking heads to justify their very existence.
