The Ohio State Buckeyes take on the Minnesota Gophers this Saturday providing yet another chance to run the score against a hapless opponent who just happens to be sitting at the wrong place at the wrong time. The point spread currently sits at 25 1/2 points but that may not be enough. Especially as the Buckeyes still need to work out a few additional kinks in the armor.
To say that things have been tough for Minnesota this season would be an understatement. Their only win came in a close season opener to Middle Tennessee State. They’ve fired their coach and unless something big (and I mean really big) happens, they could be facing a 1-11 season. It’s not like the home field advantage will do them any good either. They are 0-5 in their home stadium which was only filled to about half capacity last weekend (granted, the President was speaking in town).
Minnesota doesn’t bring much to the field in the way of defense. They’re ranked 90th in the country with an average 406.4 yards per game allowed and 100th in the country in points allowed averaging 31.9 points per game. Pryor and the running backs are going to use this game as a confidence booster. Pryor is still throwing interceptions and this will be about getting reps for both Pryor and the backup quarterbacks. Probably a good thing that the Buckeyes have scored a few lately from the red zone or else Tressel would be going for it every chance just to build experience.
The Buckeye defense needs a much needed rest but they still managed to keep Purdue out of their half of the field. They’ll find the strength for one more game before the rest week to follow.

So I’m going through the scores this morning adding up totals and then I see it. I can tell you all it pains me to see that tEggman has guessed the score exactly. We will all be forced to live with this for some time to come. Even worse, I have to contact him personally to let him know that he’s won. This means I’ll have to put up with the jeering, the incoherent babble and who knows what else. That, and he’s going to be rubbing my face in it for some time to come.

TPB-you realize who the Eggman is don’t you? He was once a significant contributor to this blog. But he has taken a sabatical, much to my dismay, and when he makes a guest appearance, I heckle him via his cell phone and he apparently is too drunk to even recognize he won. Case in point from my texting him after pheasant hunting in Nebraska last night:
Me: 10:00:56 PM/Oct 30 Central Time-”Looking like your prediction may be accurate”.
Him: 9:01:01 AM/ Oct 31 Central Time-”That pre dickshun”?

Radio silence. He’s either being arrogant or holed up in his bunker weighing his gold bars and measuring his net worth with his Texas Instruments TI-35. Or, I guess he was counting his I-tunes cards that he won.

Please note that I did say “after pheasant hunting”. Not while. Camo and green face paint with a blaze orange hat while pheasant hunting is not my outfit in the field. I’m not trying to hide from them. Just sneak up on them.
