What’s Wrong With This Picture?

After another long Saturday of college football I went to bed comfortable in the knowledge that Ohio State would move to number 8 and that the rankings had finally begun to clean up from the preseason mess.

But it was not to be. I check in today to see that Ohio State is still ranked #9 in the AP? How can this be I say to myself. Oklahoma lost a close one to Miami but surely, they must have dropped behind the Bucks. Yeah, it was a close game but there is no way they would hold their spot.

To my dismay, it wasn’t Oklahoma sitting in front of the Ohio State. Cincinnati had somehow jumped past the Buckeyes to assume the number 8 spot.

Somehow, in the world of the AP voters, beating the snott out of an 0-5 Mac team tells us more then beating the snott out of a 3-2 Big 10 team. A team which of course got screwed against Michigan who in turn beat media darlings Notre Dame. If you go deeper into Cinci’s record, so far this year they’ve proven themselves against Rutgers, ran the scoreboard against Southeast Missouri State, and played much closer games against a 1-4 Fresno State and a 2-3 Oregon State.

Sure, the Buckeyes lost a very close game to USC but they beat a Mac team also? Doesn’t that count for anything?

For now, I’ll just say it’s a great thing for Cinci football. It’s always good to see another Ahia team doing well.

Ohio State just needs to keep on winning (it cures all ills). Although I hate to admit it, we had our shot at silencing the critics, but came up a little short a few weeks ago. The hangover (in the pollsters minds) is still being felt today. I, too, am enjoying Cincinnati’s success and we’ll just need to wait and see where both the Buckeyes and Bearcats at regular season’s end. I wonder how many style points we lost for the 33-14 score for those who didn’t see the game. They should have looked ten seconds prior at 33-7 (then again, it should have been 39-7, but the field goal attempts were just too short). Just win, baby!! Go Bucks!

What the hell is Craig (Eggz) doing coaching Cincy? No wonder his toast…I mean posts…have been tardy.

What do you think the buckeyes should be ranked now?A 1-5 team makes them look like a poor peewee team at best. I think the bigheaded OSU fans should take a good look at this beat down and hope next year they can play all 11 games at the shoe. Congrats to the Boilermakers!!
