Michigan may forfeit to Penn State

by Annapolisbuckeye on October 2, 2007

If this doesn’t end LLLLLLoyd’s career, nothing will. It was reported yesterday that under Big 10 rules, Michigan freshman Artis Chambers was ineligible to play in Michigan’s win over Penn State. As a result, Michigan may be forced to forfeit the game. Chambers played in four games this season.

Apparently Chambers summer school grades weren’t so good. The Michigan athletic dept. seemed to think that since Chambers enrolled last Jan. summer school grades wouldn’t count toward eligibility GPA?

Naturally, Michigan fans are trying to pass this off as a “minor” mistake.

In yet another slap in the face, the win over Notre Dame stands because they are not part of the Big Ten.

Did I mention that Ohio State players have an average GPA of 3.02 after this past summer’s term?

Update- The Big Ten has decided that Michigan’s win over Penn State stands. The Wolverines are still in the hunt for the Big Ten Championship (for now that is).
