Congratulations Joe Bauserman, Cameron Heyward, Brian Rolle and Dane Sanzenbacher

by Annapolisbuckeye on June 13, 2011

As of yesterday, all four can proudly claim that they are officially Ohio State Alumni.

Welcome to the family guys.

Oh! Come let’s sing Ohio’s praise,
And songs to Alma Mater raise;
While our hearts rebounding thrill,
With joy which death alone can still.
Summer’s heat and Winter’s cold,
The season pass, the years will roll;
Time and change will surely show
How firm thy friendship — O hi o.

These jolly days of priceless worth,
By far the gladdest days of earth,
Soon will pass and we not know
How dearly we love Ohio.
We should strive to keep thy name
Of fair repute and spotless fame;
So, in college halls we’ll grow
To love thee better — O hi o

Though age may dim our mem’ry’s store,
We’ll think of happy days of yore,
True to friend and frank to foe,
As sturdy sons of O hi o.
If on seas of care we roll,
‘Neath blackened sky, o’er barren shoal,
Thoughts of thee bid darkness go,
Dear Alma Mater — O hi o.

This new Yahoo interview with Will Lyles does not look good for Oregon.

Kinda makes ya wonder why his sudden urge to be forthcoming about all of this.
Like he didn’t realize what he was doing at the time?
What is it with Yahoo and their truth coaxing ways?

No Tony, it doesn’t look good…welcome to the club.

To Ohio State Alumni and Fans,
As a boy growing up in west central Ohio, all I ever wanted to be was a Buckeye. And, like many other sons of Ohio then, I dreamed of wearing the “Scarlet and Gray” to play for OHIO in Ohio at Ohio State.
What has bothered me the most about the recent lapses in the character of Ohio’s football team (and maybe it’s other teams), is that it has seemingly forgotten who it plays for. In my opinion Ohio State is about the men and women of Ohio….dreamers, leaders and, even football players. Ohio State is about the boys and girls and men and women who are proud of Ohio, likely who have grown up in Ohio….to represent Ohio, to play for Ohio. Ohio State’s football team is to represent and play for them…they dont represent themselves, or their own careers or ambitious(….at least not yet), rather they are to play for OHIO. And, certainly if any of what I write is true, I hope the idea that Ohio State is about representing Ohio will spread….and in regards to football playing “sons of Ohio”, well leaving Ohio to play for “that school up north” is just not what real “sons of Ohio” do.

David…I can understand losing Kyle Kalis to Mich is a tough pill to swallow. Although, I think calling him a “traitor” is a little extreme. He is doing what he thinks is best for himself and his family/future. He would never have had to make this choice if tOSU had not gotten themselves in this situation to begin with. This kid is really not to blame here. tOSU is a powerhouse football program (much like USC) and you will recover from any sanctions that the NCAA may bestow upon your University. All you have to do is ride out the storm and be patient. The funny thing is….. he is going to a school that Rich Rod just left. If history serves us any lessons …… Mich will soon be under NCAA investigation and will level their own “self imposed” penalties.
