Because No Matter What Happens

by Annapolisbuckeye on September 3, 2011

“Because no matter what happens, one truth stands alone; this place is special, filled with integrity and most of all, ours to honor.”

As the sun breaks over Ohio Stadium, the faithful have gathered once again to partake in the honored traditions of the day. On this day however we usher in the dawning of a new epoch, one which will be carved into the history books no matter what the outcome. And although many of the faces will be different, may are not. More important, the quest remains the same

But as our young men walk across that field of honor and into a new era, they will not stand alone. They will stand with those who have gone before. Those who like them, walked onto those hallowed grounds and carved their name into the great history of this storied program. Byers, Carter, Glenn, Harre, Janowicz…the list goes on. Listen carefully and you can hear their names echoing in the ring of the victory bell which will once again sound throughout the house that Harley built.

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the Buckeyes will also rise again–stronger and more powerful, ready to stretch their wings and cast them over the eyes of the disbelievers. While the country looks elsewhere they will grow and build experience against our neighbors to the north. Their presence will be hardly noticed, building, developing, getting stronger. Others have and will attempt to hold them down but that will be short lived. Upon defeating our new foe to the west, one which will raise it’s head many times in this new epoch, our young warriors rightfully assume their proper position at the top.

Breath it in Buckeye Nation for this is the start of a new and glorious day. Savor it.

“We all understand that change is inevitable, it is growth that is optional. And we believe that this is a time of growth for all of us.” — Ohio State Coach Luke Fickell

I’m sure you guys watched the video of Luke Fickell getting ripped by Akron’s Rob Ianello, right? If you didn’t, check it out. What a nut job this guy is…

I guess 90 yards of total offense made him a little testy.
We only dressed 2 tailbacks and Smith had pretty much played the entire second half. Seemed pretty reasonable to give Rod a break.

It must have been the heat. 130 degree field temp got to me as well. I can’t imagine what it was like for a coach that’s likely going to be looking for a new job next year.
