Contest Time: Who’s The Buckeyes Biggest Fan?

by Annapolisbuckeye on August 19, 2010

The guy on the left is actually a Buckeye fan. When approached by UM fans noticing the upside down flag, he would proceed to drop the flag on the ground and desecrate it in a number of ways.

Did you name your first born Woody, Archie or Cassidy? Did the Ohio State football schedule have an impact on your wedding plans? Do you plan your family vacations around Bowl games? Did you take out a second mortgage to finance this season’s tailgate parties? If so, you may be just the person we’re looking for.

The Buckeye Blog is joining together with Columbus filmmaker Ben Wallace to find Central Ohio’s biggest Ohio State fan. We’re not talking half way here. We’re looking for someone who lives and breaths all things Buckeye.  The winner will be featured in Wallace’s upcoming documentary on the Ohio State Buckeyes and their amazing fans.

All you need to do is tell us (or show us) why you’re Central Ohio’s biggest Buckeye fan. How you show us is up to you–video, blog post, photos, epic poem — the sky’s the limit.

To enter, either leave a comment on this post or link back to this post from your YouTube video, blog post, whatever. If your entry is elsewhere on the net, be sure to leave a comment below with a link so we don’t miss it.

Not Woody HayesThe only rule is that you must live in the Central Ohio area as our filmmakers will need to be able to catch up with you. Other than that, the sky’s the limit.

We all know the Buckeyes have the best fan base in the land. Now it’s time to show the world what we’ve got.

I don’t live in Cental Ohio, so that leaves me out. I was going to name my oldest son Hopalong, but my wife said no. I like the black guy who dresses up in his buckeye suit and seems to always be close to be sitting close to the field. Wonder who he knows.

You mean Buckeye Guy? He and that Woody Hayes guy pictured above and Buckeyeman are true celebrity fans. I seem to run into both of them at every game I go to. Buckeye Guy is always good for a high five as you pass and Woody is fun to talk to. That picture above was taken a couple years ago at one of the season openers (the year I started this blog I think). I also remember running into him in Buckeye, AZ during the BCS festivities before the Florida game.

Of course, none of them can hold a candle to the beloved Neutron Man. Oh how I miss looking over to the closed corner of the stands to see the Neutron Man do that dance we all loved so well.

Alan, if you’ve got a Flicr act, post the picture there and give us a link. If that doesn’t work, send me one. If Archie truly shoes his OSU spirit, I’ll post it. Too bad our film makers need someone in Central Ohio. I’ve heard Block O tattoos are gaining in popularity.

I planned my wedding date around the Ohio State football schedule in 2008. This was of course because I could not and would not miss the OSU vs USC game, lol! I’ve got the wedding pics, but more importantly I watched the game!

My husband, Jamie Foster, is by far the biggest buckeye fan I have EVER seen. Besides the fact that he has Ohio tattooed on one bicep and State on the other, he gets REALLY crazy before/during games. On game day there is a certain way he sets up the living room.( with the recliner right in front of the tv) During the games he does nothing but pace back and forth in front of the tv or up and down our hallway. We watched the sugar bowl last night and I guarantee he walked about 500 circles around the recliner! He screams his lungs out the entire game even if OSU is killing the other team by 50. Unlike most “fans”, when the buckeyes lose he stays a loyal fan and doesnt talk trash about what the players/ coaches did or didnt do. At our house we have a “buckeye room” It took us about a month to paint the entire room scarlet and the trim gray. It is covered in pictures, jerseys, and whatever else he can find that is OSU. His car has Ohio State across the front of it. His wardrobe consists of scarlet and gray attire and he has too many buckeye hats to even count. He has already mentioned to me that he would love to name our children Scarlet and Grayson.( which is not gonna happen) But I did compromise and let him name our 4lb dog Brutus. He is the BIGGEST fan I know and Im just hoping that when we do have children my due date will not be on a day the Buckeyes play.

Hey Tiffany are you and your husband from Ohio? Do you still have the Buckeye room?
