Brutus Needs Our Help!

by Annapolisbuckeye on October 27, 2011

I’m not normally one for blatantly free advertising and I actually work for a couple of bowl games which are not the Capital One Bowl but Brutus’s entry in this year’s Capital One Mascot Challenge is pretty good. That bike path along the Olentangy can be pretty scary place at times.

I also received an impassioned plea from The Capital One Bowl’s pr department telling me that Brutus is on the brink of being eliminated and that if he loses this week to Auburn’s “Aubie” (really), it may be too late. You can vote at http://www.capitalonebowl.com/schedule (Tip, click on Brutus’s “signature” move to see him stand on his head. They must have reinforced that helmet since last year’s OU game.

Ain’t gonna happen from me; the first year they held this “competition” Brutus was slaughtering every other mascot in the voting and they changed the rules and he lost, so ain’t gonna help out Cap One with this bogus deal.

Besides, it means as much as “Top 10 (Whatevers) of the year/century/week, etc.

Not disagreeing with you North. The entire thing is a great marketing scheme. The video is pretty good though–if for no other reason than the two dorks chasing Brutus around.
