So the old magic 8 ball was right. Of the possible games, I like this one the most (although I do like an OSU/USC matchup–but we’ll get that next year). The SEC has again done such a good job at promoting themselves that unless we beat an SEC team, the national championship would have been questioned.
Not is the time to silence the SEC garbage once and for all.
As for the game, I hope we play the team that showed up against Tennessee. They we’re one interception away from missing out on the BCS all together and tell me exactly, how many stupid penalties can a team rack up in one game.
And no, I haven’t seen many LSU games but what I have seen leaves me wondering what all the hype is about (oh yeah, it’s the SEC, they specialize in hype). Looking back on it, I saw LSU vs. Alabama which they almost blew, LSU vs. Kentucky, which was a loss to..ahem…Kentucky, LSU vs. Arkansas, and LSU vs. Tennasee. So maybe I caught LSU on a bad night — or maybe four bad nights. Whatever the case, LSU may be one of the better teams…this year.
Regardless, the key for Ohio State will be getting through the break. I think last year, the spring game was closer to the BCS Championship than the Ohio State/Michigan game. However, the Buckeyes will have learned from their mistakes. This entire year has been about redemption and rarely, does a team get an opportunity to erase the mistakes of the past.
I don’t think LSU has met an offensive line like our this year and I know they haven’t met a defense like ours. If the o-line can hold, our defense should do well against an LSU style offense.

One game that EVERYONE overlooks is LSU/Tulane. Tulane, a perennial loser with a pretty bad team this year (sans running back Matt Forte and Bob Toledo at coach), held LSU in check for a large part of the game.
In the end, LSU pulled it out, but the first half of that game was definitely won by Tulane. LSU’s D is not as solid as they would like you to believe (hence two losses and two near losses).
Ohio State lost to 1 team this year, and that team a) has a stellar coach and b) is headed to a BCS bowl themselves…
Trying to talk to SEC fans is like beating your head against the wall. It hurts, its excruciating and at the end does nobody any good. Theres a great article about this SEC-Big Ten conference rivalry that has cropped up due to Ohio State’s recent dominance in the national title chase and its about time the debate is put to a rest. We have 3 shots at the SEC this post season. Check out nittanywhiteout.blogspot.com
I couldn’t agree more about the “challenge” of talking to SEC fans.
How can the SEC talk? While yes, the Buckeyes blew it against Florida, the Big Ten one the other two SEC match ups. Big Ten won 2/3. The SEC loves to talk but when it comes down to it, it doesn’t hold up. The Big Ten usually sends their top team to the Rose Bowl. From there, the bowls have a tendency to match second tier Big Ten teams against the top SEC teams.
Same is true this year. What, an unranked Michigan plays Florida? I suppose that if Michigan wins (and you know they want it bad), it is because the SEC season is so tough.
Then Wisconsin, who finished fourth in the Big 10 plays Tennessee who finished second in the SEC?
I’m a worried about Michigan — god knows they can’t defend anything that even resembles a spread, but Wisconsin should give Tenn a game. That is if they actually want to.
As for Ohio State, we have them just where we want them.
Remember that this will essentially be a home game for LSU. We’re not likely to get any calls. On the other LSU is coached by Les Miles. So maybe we have a shot after all!
“As for Ohio State, we have them just where we want them.”
Is that so? LOL.
“On the other LSU is coached by Les Miles.”
You bet your overrated fucking ass we are.
