Another cop-out blog post thanks to the creative talents of @RobbyDKitchel. Just gives me another day to get my who’ll start quarterback/offensive line/open practice post together. Be sure to check the hit laid on that Miami player at about 1:30. Can’t tell who finished him off but I’m glad I wasn’t on the receiving end of that one.
Apparently I’m not the only one thinking that 2011 could potentially turn into a dream season. If you haven’t seen RobbydKitchel’s other videos, check them out here and here.

You may want to start cancelling your subscriptions to Playboys magazine and cable channels. It appears that the resident football experts did not even rank tOSU in their preseason top 25 poll. Rumor has it …… Mrs June is a Mich Wolverine and she was able to convince both Mrs March and Mrs October that tOSU will have major issues this year.
Exerpt from poll:
?. OHIO STATE
The darker side of human nature raised its ugly head in Columbus this offseason. Five players sold rings and other memorabilia to a tattoo shop owner in return for cash and discounts. Coach Jim Tressel, instead of reporting the infractions, looked the other way. Was he trying to protect players naively putting a few bucks in their pocket? Was he trying to protect OSU’s reputation and their chance to play in a BCS game? Or was the Buckeye program under Tressel’s watch out of control? Whatever the case, Tressel lost his job and approximately 3.5 million dollars of future earnings. Star quarterback Terrelle Pryor, one of five players suspended for five games for their part in the scandal, then dropped out of school and declared himself eligible for the NFL supplemental draft. Former player and assistant coach Luke Fickell has been named interim coach for this season as Buckeye fans wait to see if even more shoes will drop. In the meantime, there are still some good football players on this team.

That’s a strong analysis. They obviously know that most readers are more interested in said Miss March, June and Oct.
Other than stating the obvious, did they notice that the Buckeyes return almost the entire defense and offensive lines, then yes, I guess “there are some good football players on this team.”
Re: Miss March, June and Oct
The standards at Playboy continuously slide lower each year. You can find more attractive models in a JC Pennys catalog – Just sayin.
They obviously know nothing about football either.
Boise St. won’t make it past Georgia
OU won’t make it past Florida St.
Oregon won’t make it past LSU
South Carolina has a QB that refuses to stay out of Spurrier’s dog house
Arkansas will always be one of the most explosive passing teams around with coach Petrino at the helm, and they say Knile Davis will provide most of the offense without Mallett?
Oh, I get it. I’ll wager now that Davis has been lost for the season with a broken ankle, Arkansas won’t even be worthy of top 25 recognition….ahem…..sure.
Gonzo,
Don’t get your panties in a bunch …….
Oregon will make you eat your words on Sept 3rd.
Spoken like a typical SEC fan. Pretty amazing that anyone in the SEC is actually taking on teams of that level. They usually go after the like of UT Chattanooga this early in the season.
Florida State – not a chance.
Georgia – study the Nebraska films and hope for the best. Boise will have a serious chip on their shoulder and everything to prove.
Oregon/LSU- this is probably the most interesting of the group. Most of the sports books have pulled the game now that they found out that Mr. Thomas was in the car with Johnny Hot Rod the night he got pulled over doing 118.
Apparently, Chip Kelly has his limits though when it comes to disciplinary suspensions.
Probably pulling for Oregon here. Always glad to see a grass-eating Michigan man lose.
Jim,
…..”Apparently, Chip Kelly has his limits though when it comes to disciplinary suspensions.” – You think that Thomas should get suspended because he was a passenger? What law did Thomas break…. and how many games should he be suspended? If the standard at tOSU is “guilt by association” than you wouldn’t have an athletic deptment or a football team this year. Sometimes I just can’t understand you Bucknuts.
Typical SEC fan huh? Well then, if that has anything to do with winning annual national championships against the typically over-hyped Big 10-12?/Pac 10-12? wannabes of the world, then count me in.
Florida St. – Not a chance? Never mind, I don’t even care to debate this one if that’s the best you can do.
Boise with a chip on their shoulder in the land of the SEC…..now this I’ve got to see! I’m almost sure Georgia will be awed by their speed and physicality.
To be honest, I am very curious about Boise and the SEC. I still haven’t really bought into Boise. There is no question they will have something to prove and if there is anything to their hype, where better to prove it than in the land of hype…I mean the SEC.
No Tony, I don’t think that Thomas deserves to be suspended. I haven’t seen the video and I don’t know enough about what happened that night. I do think it puts Kelly in an awkward situation though.
Of course, Seastrunk’s exit is much more interesting. Chance are good that it has nothing to do with the NCAA investigation but at least it was money well spent.
Tony,
I understand you believe Oregon is the real deal, and they may very well beat LSU, but that vaunted offense your team layed claim to last season was held to 19 points by an Auburn defense that was just barely above average in the BCS title game.
It reminded me of how hyped OU was in ’08 before they got held to 14 points in the title game by Florida. Sound familiar? Oh, and you could even go back farther to the 2004 title game with LSU vs. OU. I believe the Sooner offense was “unstopable” back then too.
Here’s the deal. LSU’s defense WILL be better than what the Ducks faced last season against Auburn. You might as well acknowledge this fact before the game is even played. Nothing is going to change that.
Also, even though I haven’t been all that impressed with LSU QB Jordan Jefferson’s passing for the past three seasons now, if a defense can’t get pressure on him, he’ll make you pay with the kind of recievers he has at his disposal.
If Oregon’s run defense can’t stop the inside/outside power running attack LSU is going to throw at them, it isn’t going to matter anyway. They’re similar to Winsconsin in this regard.
I remember how you gloated last season about how badly the Ducks ran over Tennessee in Knoxville. Tennessee has been down for a couple of years now. They’re in the process of bringing their program back, which I am sure they eventually will, but Oregon definately caught them at the right time.
Too bad it wasn’t Bama in Tuscaloosa. You would’ve at least HAD something to gloat about then.
Gonzo,
Spoken like a typical SEC fan…….
Thanks Tony.
